Memorial of the Lieutenants of the U.S. Navy submitted to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives in 1828 requesting a pay raise. They compare the rate of pay of officers in the U.S. Army with the U.S. Navy and indicate that a great disparity exists between the two services. Forty-nine officers signed this document, including David G. Farragut and Samuel F. DuPont.
